Lastest Statement

HKRS has come across a few incidents and news recently, and suspecting all these incidents and news are related to the same member.  For the avoidance of doubt, we like to make our statement as follows:

1. Body Check Service
HKRS never provides body check services to members’ rabbit.  Thus, DO NOT bring your rabbit to our Centre asking our staff to provide such services.  If you need expertise advice, please visit relevant veterinarians.  For detailed information, please visit our web site  http://www.hkrabbit.org/knowledge9_en.php.

2.Foster Family
The suspected member had brought her own rabbit to Kowloon Veterinary Hospital claiming she was a foster of HKRS and tried to put the vet fee into HKRS’s account.  We would like to clarify that all vet visits, no matter from our Centre directly or from foster family, will be arranged by HKRS’s committee personally.  The responsible committee would also follow up the case all the way.  If anybody would try to attempt this kind of offence again, HKRS would definitely report to the police.

3.Selling Her Own Product in HKRS Centre
The suspected member once brought her own rabbit to our Centre and visited the “adoption room”.  Inside the room, she brought out her rabbit from the carrier.  When our volunteer found this out and asked her to put her rabbit back to the carrier, she refused to do so.  If her rabbit was carrying any transferrable diseases, it would be a disaster to HKRS’s poor rabbits.

On another occasion, she tried to convince our members, who were shopping at our Centre, not to buy APD hay at our Centre but instead buying from her on-line shop for cheaper price.  We then made enquiries to the sole distributor of APD and was replied that they did not supply any APD hay to that suspected member.  There’s then a question on the quality of the hay she was selling.  Her action of selling her own product at our Centre was also not reasonable.

In view of that, we would stress that anyone visiting our Centre would need to strictly follow our house rules and regulations, of which would subject to change from time to time.  Anyone who is not willing to comply with such rules and regulations, we would ask her to leave.

For other members, please also be alert on advice or products from any unknown person, in order to avoid any possible harm to your own rabbit.  Also, all our staffs and duty-volunteers will wear a name tag from now on.  Please only ask for help or advice from those who wear name tag.
