禍不單行的復活節

復活節對大家來說，是歡度假期的節日，但對兔協上下來說，卻是一個悲痛的長周末，我們很遺憾地告訴大家，Sugus和Fan Fan已因病離我們而去。

13歲的Sugus經醫生證實有胸腺瘤及胸腔積水的問題，但因為年紀太大和虛弱，醫生不建議做手術，一直接受安靈治療以紓緩病情，但Sugus在6/4早上發出痛苦的叫聲，義工立即送牠去醫院，可惜在途中Sugus已敵不過病痛，離開了我們。

在接收Fan Fan時，我們已發現牠患有腎石和牙瘡，經醫生診斷後，屬晚期腎衰竭，不適合做腎石手術。我們一直為牠打皮下水和服用止痛藥以紓緩牠的病情，連醫生亦指牠的生存鬥志很頑強，是一個奇蹟，可惜Fan Fan的身體最終捱不過病痛，於8/4 病發並在醫院離世。

兩隻兔兔病情嚴重，小小的身軀承受著不同的痛楚，任憑我們如何努力及不捨，也無法挽救牠們的生命。

兔協的信念是讓每隻兔子也能享有生存的權利，妥善照顧待領養的每一隻兔兔，為患病兔兔提供適切的治療，盡量減輕牠們的痛苦，最後即使返魂乏術，也無愧於心。

相信大家都明白，小動物的醫療費用十分高昂，但只要是能幫助紓緩兔兔病情的治療，哪怕只有一線希望，我們也在所不惜，因為寶貴的生命只得一條。

我們同時堅持善用每位捐款人的善款，因為全賴各位的支持，兔協一路走來，才可以一直支援有需要的兔兔。我們明白支持者都希望善款用得其所，所以兔協亦一直堅守承諾，一切以兔兔的福利為首，將資源及資金都用在改善兔兔福利的工作上。

雖然今年是兔協成立20周年，但我們的目標只有一個，為所有患病、無依的兔兔提供照顧，我們認為這些日常的照料比起任何慶祝活動來得更重要。最近由於不少兔兔出現身體不適，需要就醫或額外人手照顧及餵藥，加上沉重的醫療費用亦令本會百上加斤，我們謹代表兔協現時照顧的99隻兔子感謝各位善心人一直與我們同行，亦十分感謝你們的支持及體諒。

Misfortunes Never Come Singly During This Easter

Easter is a festival of joy for everyone, but it is a long weekend of sadness for HKRS. We regret to inform all that Sugus and Fan Fan have passed away due to illness.

13-year-old Sugus was confirmed by vet to have thymoma and pleural effusion, but since she was too old and weak, vet did not recommend surgery. She has been receiving palliative care to relieve her condition, but Sugus uttered a painful scream in the morning of 6/4, volunteer immediately sent her to the hospital, but unfortunately Sugus was overwhelmed by the illness and left us.

When we received Fan Fan, we found that she was suffering from kidney stones and dental abscesses. After vet diagnosis, she was in advanced renal failure and was not suitable for kidney stone removal surgery. We have been giving fluid therapy and painkillers to her to relieve her condition. Even the vet said that her survival is very tenacious, which is a miracle. Unfortunately, Fan Fan’s body could not bear the pain at the end, and she fell ill on 8/4 and passed away in the hospital.

The two rabbits are seriously ill, and their small bodies are enduring different pains. No matter how hard we try, we cannot save their lives.

The belief of HKRS is to let every rabbit enjoy the right to live, to take good care of every rabbit,to provide appropriate treatment for the sick rabbits, and to minimize their pain.

I believe everyone understands that the medical expenses of rabbits are very high, but as long as the treatment can help to relieve the condition of the rabbits, even if there is only a glimmer of hope, we will not hesitate, because every life can only live once.

At the same time, we insist on making good use of the donations of each donor, because thanks to your support, HKRS has been able to support the rabbits in need all the way. We understand that supporters hope that the donations will be well spent, so HKRS has always adhered to our promise. Everything is headed by the welfare of rabbits, and resources and funds will be used to improve the welfare of rabbits.

Although this year is the 20th anniversary of HKRS, we have only one goal, to provide care for all sick and homeless rabbits. We believe that these daily cares are more important than any celebration. Recently, many rabbits have been feeling unwell, requiring medical treatment or additional staff to take care of and feed the medicine, and the heavy medical expenses have also added to the burden of HKRS. On behalf of the 99 rabbits currently under the care of HKRS, we would like to thank all the kind people who have been walking with us, and thank you very much for your support and understanding.
