*2023年5月22日緊急接收兔兔Churros*

我們在22/5 收到一名主人的求助，指兔兔Churros不願意進食，留醫幾天及服藥後情況無大進展，於是到另一間診所照CT，方發現兔兔左下顎粉碎性骨折及左邊出現面癱，獸醫指情況是由外力造力，相信兔兔正承受著極度痛楚，所以才不願進食。

在最需要主人照料的時候，前主人因情緒問題需轉介精神科治理，由於擔心Churros得不到妥善的照顧，兔協當日立即緊急接收Churros並帶往專科醫生聽取意見。

兩個月過去了，經過兔協上下的悉心照料，Churros 情況改善不少，早前覆診時醫生表示左面面癱情況有好轉，而且粉碎性骨折情況穩定，檢查過牙齒後，發現牙齒咬合情況良好，相信有用左邊牙齒咬乾草。惟肝指數仍然偏高，要繼續服藥及食草粉穩定體重。

雖然經歷過種種痛楚，加上離開了主人，來到一個陌生的環境，但仍然無改Churros活潑好動的性格，每天餵草粉的時間，也是Churros最興奮的時間，她會出動連串賣萌攻勢，催促姐姐為她送上草粉，好像知道要乖乖吃草粉，才可以盡快康復。

We received Churros on 22 May when her owner couldn’t take care of her anymore. Churros was found to be skipping her food, when her condition didn’t improve much after being hospitalised and medicated, a CT scan revealed a fractured jaw and facial nerve paralysis on the left side of her face, the injury was believed to be caused by external force and Churros has been suffering from severe pain.

When she needed the caring of her family the most, Churros’ owner was diagnosed with psychological issues and couldn’t take care of her anymore, we decided to take her in immediately and took her to the vet for consulation on the same day.

In the last two months, Churros has improved a lot under the care of our staff. At a recent check up, her facial paralysis was found to have improved, the jaw fracture situation was stablised, and her teeth was also found to be in good shape, showing that she has been chewing hay with her teeth properly. Churros is still on medicine to keep her liver index in check, and also on Timothy hay powder to gain some weight.

After all the pain she’s been through with the injury and being surrendered, Churros didn’t let any of this take her down, instead she has been settling down very well at the HKRS centre, whenever it’s meal time, she will always be charming our staff with her overwhelming cuteness until she gets her meal. It is as if she knows that she needs to eat properly to get well soon!
